Our GP practice members

Our membership is made up of all 51 GP practices in Hounslow serving a registered patient population of 305,626 people.

We manage an annual budget of £285 million, across an area diverse in terms of wealth, deprivation and health.

All of our GPs use their experience and knowledge to influence the decisions the CCG makes; some become more involved by sitting on the CCG Council and governing body. Some GP commissioners also lead on various speciality areas such as diabetes, musculoskeletal services (MSK), and dermatology.

Having direct contact with patients means we can ensure that the feedback we hear can directly influence the decisions made by the CCG. This means we can commission services for the residents of Hounslow that better meet their needs, and provide support and care at an early stage to avoid them getting seriously ill.

We meet regularly as GP commissioners at the Council of Members meetings, which bring all members together to discuss wider strategic issues affecting all practices. Following these meetings, members meet in their localities to collectively commission new services and share best practice. This has been particularly important as new care pathways for patients have been introduced, and for sharing ideas on how best we can manage our budgets.

More information about what we do can be found in the 'our plans' section of this website.
