Clinical commissioning groups have been set up to work closely with other organisations involved in health and social care. This is to ensure that together we achieve the best health outcomes for local people.
We work with a range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations involved in commissioning and providing care.
Hounslow CCG works closely with the London Borough of Hounslow on health and social care issues.
From 1 April 2013, the London Borough of Hounslow was given a new duty to improve the health of Hounslow. The public health team that was previously based in NHS Hounslow, the primary care trust, moved over to the council, but the CCG continues to work closely with them.
Our close relationship with the council is more important than ever as we move towards delivery of the Better Care Fund (BCF), which is a single pooled budget to support health and social care services to work more closely together in local areas.
The health and wellbeing board is a statutory committee of the council. The board brings together representatives from the council, the CCG and community organisations to work together to improve the health and wellbeing of Hounslow's population. The board is responsible for producing a joint health and wellbeing strategy.
Healthwatch Hounslow works closely with the CCG to raise awareness among commissioners, providers and other agencies about the importance of engaging with communities. You can find out more about the role of Healthwatch in the 'Your voice' section of this site.
Hounslow Community Network is the voice for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Hounslow. It is tasked with facilitating elections of VCS representatives on local statutory partnership boards, including the health and wellbeing board.
The CCG also works closely with a range of providers of healthcare services. Click here for details.
