Expert patient programme

The Expert Patients Programme is a self care programme which is free for people and carers living with long-term health conditions such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease, multiple sclerosis to name just a few.

These programmes are run across the borough and led by those living with a long term conditions, so have real life experience of what this means. This programme has proved to:

  • increase confidence
  • improve quality of life
  • help manage the condition more effectively
  • reduce time spent with health professionals
