NHS Hounslow CCG has organised a number of training dates previously for local people and members of practice Patient Participation Groups (PPGs), including workshops on effective meeting skills and the role of patients in the NHS.
Sessions such as these are based on the content of our Locality Patient Information Pack and feedback we receive from patients involved with their PPG. You can find more information and examples of training below:

Learning for everyone
Learning for NHS England PPV partners and staff working with partners
Learning for patients and the public
During 2016/17 NHS England ran training courses in London for patient and public voice partner training and a number of Hounslow people attended this training. An evaluation of this training is available here. We are now looking at how we can best provide training for the future.
What do sessions cover?
The meeting skills training workshop focussed on practical skills and tools to help run a PPG meeting effectively; how to deal with difficult situations conflict in meetings; and how to put views across in the most effective way.
"Well laid out teaching session" "Very educative and interesting"
The NHS patients' training workshop provided participants with a background to the national structure of the NHS, which organisations are part of it and what they do as part of this structure. There is also a focus on the role of NHS Hounslow CCG and how it works with patients to capture their views and feed this information into their commissioning work.
